Obama on gun control...

Been a while since I wrote, so I figured I'd write about our soon to be new President. I didn't vote for him, but I figure I'm gonna have to support him, being that he's going to be the new voice for the people. I haven't paid much to this election mostly because I really didn't care for any of the people running. I just hope he can do a decent job of running this country, and hopefully fix some problems. I don't agree with his issues about gun control, the way I see it is he's gonna to have large problems on his hands especially with the NRA when he passes the removal of higher powered weapons that are sold to the general public. I don't disagree that there should be strict rules on purchasing a weapon, I just don't think we should be govern'd on what we want to purchase. It's a right to bear arms, but it's also a privilege as well. I understand that there is a bunch of nut jobs out there with weapons because of abuse of this privilege, but I mostly think it's because of a lack of educating these people on the useage. I personally think if a program is set in place to educate people on the use of guns (handguns, rifles, assault weapons, etc) we could have a potential for less incidents that occur, just within our homes. In turn this might prevent other issue that occur outside the home. I went to the gun store the other day with my friend to pick up some ammo for target practice. While in the store another individual and his wife were making a gun purchase. The individual moreso in question was his wife, while my friend and I we prusing the glass cases with the guns they had next to us was this lady holding a unloaded firearm, but waving it around in a manner that made my friend very uncomfortable. She kept uncontrolable pointing the barrel in a direction towards my friend as well as an upward motion. Her husband looked in excitement as his wife picked out this gun, a .357 magnum with a very long barrel. This gun looked like a hand cannon. My friend commented to me about how uncomfortable she was, and my friend also knew that the gun was unloaded but the feeling was just there, moreso because here's an uneducated person purchasing a handgun, ahem! HAND CANNON! Now my friend is an army vet, she has served in the Gulf War and Dessert Storm. She has been trained to handle M-16's, Handguns, and AR-50's as well as large caliber machine guns, but I can totally understand the uncomfortable feel someone can get in a situation such as that. With that I make my plea don't take away the guns, educate the masses.

OH one more thing, I hope that lady doesn't shoot her foot off! or her husband by accident!
