Obama on gun control...

Been a while since I wrote, so I figured I'd write about our soon to be new President. I didn't vote for him, but I figure I'm gonna have to support him, being that he's going to be the new voice for the people. I haven't paid much to this election mostly because I really didn't care for any of the people running. I just hope he can do a decent job of running this country, and hopefully fix some problems. I don't agree with his issues about gun control, the way I see it is he's gonna to have large problems on his hands especially with the NRA when he passes the removal of higher powered weapons that are sold to the general public. I don't disagree that there should be strict rules on purchasing a weapon, I just don't think we should be govern'd on what we want to purchase. It's a right to bear arms, but it's also a privilege as well. I understand that there is a bunch of nut jobs out there with weapons because of abuse of this privilege, but I mostly think it's because of a lack of educating these people on the useage. I personally think if a program is set in place to educate people on the use of guns (handguns, rifles, assault weapons, etc) we could have a potential for less incidents that occur, just within our homes. In turn this might prevent other issue that occur outside the home. I went to the gun store the other day with my friend to pick up some ammo for target practice. While in the store another individual and his wife were making a gun purchase. The individual moreso in question was his wife, while my friend and I we prusing the glass cases with the guns they had next to us was this lady holding a unloaded firearm, but waving it around in a manner that made my friend very uncomfortable. She kept uncontrolable pointing the barrel in a direction towards my friend as well as an upward motion. Her husband looked in excitement as his wife picked out this gun, a .357 magnum with a very long barrel. This gun looked like a hand cannon. My friend commented to me about how uncomfortable she was, and my friend also knew that the gun was unloaded but the feeling was just there, moreso because here's an uneducated person purchasing a handgun, ahem! HAND CANNON! Now my friend is an army vet, she has served in the Gulf War and Dessert Storm. She has been trained to handle M-16's, Handguns, and AR-50's as well as large caliber machine guns, but I can totally understand the uncomfortable feel someone can get in a situation such as that. With that I make my plea don't take away the guns, educate the masses.

OH one more thing, I hope that lady doesn't shoot her foot off! or her husband by accident!

Well the New Year is upon us. Many things have happened, recently Iraq's horrible dictator has been executed. We've lost some great people as well,Gerald Ford our 36th President. Hopefully this year will more prosperous. On a side note I will be helping my father create his own blog the "Crazy Norwegian's Rant", I think this will be an interesting endeavor for him. It'll give him the opportunity to bitch, complain and compliment industries and work experiences he's been through. My personal opinion is, it's gonna be a laugh riot. I sit an talk with him and love to hear what he says about Mechanics and Engineers related to the Marine Industry. We'll see how it goes. Be sure to give me any input on this.

Hey everyone this is my first post in my new blog... yaa...whoopeee....., i can't contain myself...
Anyways to the matter at hand. I've just celebrated the wonderful holiday of Christmas and I received a new guitar, an Ibanez GSA60 I'm loving it, too bad I can't play a lick yet... I bought a beginners book for the Guitar Method. I'm hoping it can teach me a little atleast to get an understanding of how the frets work, I played keyboard for quite some time, and sheet music I can still understand. The tabs don't seem that hard, just gotta start trucking away at those lessons...books DVD's and CDrom's. I kinda impartial to actual lesson with someone teaching you live..., reason because of my past studies, and I figured I have enough with understanding how to read, just need to know finger positions on the fret board and pick placement. As I learn more I'll add to this and other assorted crap the i do that anyone out-there might be interested in....or not...hell it's blog isn't it!
